George Ivanovich Gurdjieff /Russian: Георгий Иванович Гурджиев/ was a mystic, philosopher, spiritual teacher, and composer of Armenian and Greek descent, born in Alexandrapol (now Gyumri), Armenia. Gurdjieff taught that most humans do not possess a unified consciousness and thus live their lives in a state of hypnotic “waking sleep”, but that it is possible to awaken to a higher state of consciousness and achieve full human potential. Gurdjieff described a method attempting to do so, calling the discipline “The Work”. Visit the Gyumri and get to know the places that Mr. Gurdjieff mentions in his books and make your own sacred pilgrimage.

Description:

Visit one of most celebrated beer factories in Armenia is located in Gyumri. It is a short walking distance from the downtown area within the city. Witness how “Gyumri Beer” is brewed and bottled, and explore the historic cellars inside the factory where the raw beer is fermented and produced. This is a fantastic experience to taste beer in its different stages of production. The building of the factory is historic, and is part of Gyumri’s cultural heritage.

Description:

On this tour we will be permitted to see a private collection of rare Soviet glass and to learn about the history surrounding this collection. We will also sample several wines produced by Caucasian Bouquet. These wines are the result of collaboration between Azerbaijan, Gerogia and Armenia and represent the unique and delicious flavors of these three countries. Finally, participants will view a private exhibition of the most provocative, influential and rare propaganda posters of the Soviet times.
